The invitation that did not come

Daksha was holding a great sacrifice, and he had pointedly left Shiva off the guest list.

It was a public insult, aimed squarely at the son-in-law he had never approved of.

Sati wanted to go anyway. Uninvited. To see her father and her sisters.

Shiva said no.
