Tales of the Gods
Somewhere in the world, right now, an old soldier is singing. He is waiting, because there is one more war and he intends to be there.
Somewhere in the world, right now, an old soldier is singing.
He has been doing it for a very long time, through this whole age and most of the last one, and he is waiting, because there is one more war and he intends to be there for it.
Kali Yuga is the age we are in, and the tradition says it is the worst of the four.
It also says it gets worse. Corruption will work its way so far into every institution and every relationship that nothing inside the world will be able to correct it any longer.
At that point, when it is as bad as it is going to get, Kalki is born.
He is the tenth and last avatar of Vishnu. He comes in a town called Shambhala, to a Brahmin father. He rides a white horse. He carries a sword that burns.
And his work is not simply to kill something. He has to end the corruption, put righteous rule back in place, and leave the world fit for the next cycle to begin, for a new Satya Yuga, a golden age, to open immediately behind him.
