The Guardian Parvati Made to Protect a Closed Door

She wanted somebody who was hers. Everything in that house ran through Shiva somewhere. So she made one.

She wanted somebody who was hers.

Everything in that house was shared. Every attendant, every guest, every arrangement, all of it ran through Shiva somewhere. Parvati wanted one person in the world whose first loyalty was to her and to nobody else.

So she made one.

The boy at the door

Parvati was bathing, and she used turmeric paste on her skin, and she took the paste and shaped a boy out of it.

Then she breathed, and he was alive.

She put him at the door of her chamber and gave him one instruction, and it was not complicated.

Let no one in while I am bathing.
