A god took the most beautiful form imaginable, not to fight a war, but to end one, by making both sides trust her completely.
Gods and demons once churned the cosmic ocean together, in search of amrita, the nectar of immortality. Once the nectar appeared, the struggle over who would possess it grew fierce. Vishnu saw the danger of the nectar falling into the wrong hands. He took on a form built to resolve this crisis: Mohini, an enchantress of rare beauty, able to captivate anyone who looked upon her.
Mohini approached both the gods and the demons. She offered to split the nectar fairly between them herself. Charmed by her beauty, the demons agreed to let her handle the sharing out of it. They trusted her fully, in that moment. Mohini then handled the task skilfully. She made sure the nectar reached only the devas, securing their strength and immortality. The asuras were left with nothing, exactly as Vishnu had intended from the start.
