The Great Epics
Karna had saved one weapon for Arjuna. Ghatotkacha made him spend it before dawn.
He forced the enemy to spend, on him, the weapon that had been saved for his uncle. He never found out that he had.
Ghatotkacha was Bhima's eldest son, and his mother was Hidimbi, a rakshasi of the forest the Pandavas passed through after escaping the house of lac.
He was raised by his mother, away from Hastinapura and away from the court, and grew up outside the world his father's family fought over. He came when he was called and otherwise lived his own life.
Being half-rakshasa, his powers increased at night, the opposite of everyone else on that field.
